I am a Bioinformatician and Medical Informatician specializing in infectious diseases, working across the full spectrum of research data—from pathogen sequencing and gut microbiome analysis to patient-level data collection, advanced analytics, visualization, and evidence synthesis through living, human-in-the loop systematic reviews and meta-analyses. My work is highly transversal, involving close collaboration between clinical experts, statisticians, and data experts. Currently, I work as an Adjiunckt Professor in the Department of the Biomedical Engineering at, Wrocław University of Science and Technology .
I believe that effective communication in interdisciplinary teams requires a conscious democratic process, and I'm passionate about teaching and scientific data visualization to facilitate it. I'm currently involved in several interdisciplinary tasks within the EU-funded ORCHESTRA, CoMeCT and VERDI projects.
My past and current work spans a diverse range of approaches including mata-analysis, clinical metagenomics, clinical data analysis and management, and molecular dynamics. Additionally, I'm involved in related scientific visualisation, and teaching.
I lead and contribute to working groups focused on infectious diseases and post-infective syndromes. Since 2021, I have chaired the ORCHESTRA WP2 Working Group on Post-COVID Condition, coordinating large-scale data analyses across European cohorts. In 2024, I joined the Post-Acute Infection Syndrome (PAIS) Working Group of the Cohort Coordination Board (CCB), where I led efforts to standardize core variables for studying post-COVID conditions. Most recently, in 2025, I became Co-Chair of the CCB Artificial Intelligence Working Group, spearheading research into the in applying AI to enhance observational cohort studies in infectious diseases.
